Why do I repeat myself in conversations so much?

Repeating myself = Saying one thing, then another followed by the first thing once more. Although I’ve yet to figure out the exact reason I do so, I currently have an inkling this tendency of mine to repeat points that come up in a conversation has something to do w/:

Me having a ton to say and my mind jumpin’ from one topic to another, only to come back to the first topic again… provided I don’t forget about it in my speech frenzy. You’ll understand this much better if and when I ever start podcasting.

Regardless, the other quite legit reason behind my habit of repeating myself (in as different ways as I can each time) may stem from my need to be understood. You could also say it stems from my fear of being misunderstood, but that’d not entirely be correct. Some time ago, I may have feared being misunderstood,

but I’ve thankfully come to the realization that I don’t work from the place of that fear anymore. I’d rather look at it as communicating in different manners and expending all that energy getting my point across because I want to meet my humane need to be heard.

I must admit, it works splendidly!! I do feel understood, and heard.

I don’t know if this provides any value to anyone in anyway, but I do want to throw a thought out there about the fact that worrying/ overthinking about any past conversations we may have had w/ any person being incredibly unworthy of our time and energy in the present.

It’s just best for our own selves and everyone around us to step out of our head and practice presence in this moment. This moment, one that’s here and now. One I can choose to be grateful to be alive in. One I was allowed to witness and enjoy the beauty of. One I choose to get in touch w/ my truth.

Just one. Here and now. That’s all any of us really have in the end.
